James Pawluk is a highly respected political and public policy professional, having served at senior levels of government, business and policy development for more than two decades.
Prior to joining Counsel House, James established the Victorian office of the nationally recognised policy think tank, the McKell Institute where he worked first hand with Victorian Government Cabinet Ministers in providing a platform for leading policy development in Victoria. He then went on to develop the Institute’s research program in superannuation and sustainable investment.
During his extensive political career, James served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Federal Minister for Human Services, the Hon. Joe Ludwig and Senior Adviser to the Hon. Chris Bowen MP. He also served on Kevin Rudd’s personal staff in the lead up to the winning 2007 Federal Election.
James has first hand experience in the corporate sector having led the government relations function and held senior commercial roles for Australia Post.
He is a regular contributor to political news programs, including Sky News and SBS, and has an extensive body of published public policy.
